Abundantly Blessed

Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty.  Just and true are your ways, King of Ages.  Revelation 15:3 NIV

God’s faithfulness to the Christian Aid Center has been abundant this past year. We have seen many lives transformed and changed by His grace. Many received Christ as their personal Savior, others recommitted their lives to Jesus, and we are seeing a season of spiritual growth which is a testament to the power of the gospel to restore and heal broken lives.

Many families have successfully secured housing in the community as well as employment, seven men are participating in the Men’s Transitional Program and three others are in the interim program. Many of our guests are actively participating in bible studies, growing spiritually and deepening their personal walk with the Lord.

What an encouragement it has been to see the tremendous response from so many of you during this difficult year. As other agencies experience financial hardship, we continue to be in awe of how God remains faithful to provide for the guests that pass through our doors.

We want to thank all of you who have helped make this year’s holidays more enjoyable for our guests. In particular, we want to thank those who sponsored drives to help meet the vital needs of the Christian Aid Center – pillows and blankets, food, toys, paper products, cleaning supplies, and much, much, more.

Your generosity is making a difference in the lives of so many. During this past year so many people have come to us in deep distress. Because of your faithful support, hope and opportunity replace lives filled with panic and despair. We are looking forward to 2012 and waiting to see God at work to meet the heart needs of the poor and needy in our community.

Red & Gold Motorcycle Club - 1st Annual Pillow and Blanket Run

1st Annual Red and Gold Motorcycle Club Pillow & Blanket Run

a Thundering Success!

Despite sleet, snow, and freezing temperatures, over a dozen members of the Walla Walla County Red and Gold motorcycle clubs dared the wintry weather for their 1st Annual Pillow and Blanket Run. With Santa riding in the lead and the help of two support vehicles, the members collected 80 new pillows, 40 blankets, bedding, towels, and other household products for the Christian Aid Center. Organizers said they received such a positive response from motorcycle riders that they are considering holding a Spring Run to collect other items on the Christian Aid Center’s needs list. If you would like to ride for a good cause, please contact Kookie 509.240.7473 or Uncle Roger 509.301.7153 for more information. Thank you!!

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen!

This past Christmas, several of the men staying at our shelter formed a small men’s chorus and “made a joyful noise” singing carols at various nursing homes, churches, and venues within the community. The men’s enthusiasm and big smiles reflected the joy of Jesus in their hearts and the positive changes He has made in their lives. We’re not sure if they are planning to go “on tour” in the future, but we are hopeful the CAC Men’s Christmas Chorus will become a yearly event!

Kitchen and Dining Hall Remodel: Mission Accomplished

If you’ve ever done a remodeling project, you know how your recent renovation seems to make every other room in your house seem dingy and in need of a facelift. When the Christian Aid Center completed their kitchen renovation, we saw the need to update the adjoining dining hall to complement our beautiful new kitchen. Installation of new flooring and a contemporary color palette brought our 80’s dining hall into the 21st century. Our dining hall remodel was completed just in time for our Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you to everyone who donated time, money, and expertise, to make our kitchen and dining area a place where people can feel at home.
